Ryan Coogler‘s second MCU film, in contrast to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, was positively received by critics and audiences. It didn’t take long before concerns about a potential third installment in the series began to surface.

Wright recently stated that she believes Black Panther 3 is “already in the works” while on the red carpet at the 2023 Golden Globes.

Even Coogler has acknowledged that he is content to keep narrating tales about Wakanda “as long as folks will have [him]”.

Letitia Wright, the star of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, sought to explain her recent comments that a third installment in the Black Panther franchise is currently in production in a new interview with Buzzfeed.

what [she] tried to say,” according to Wright, was that “there is always the hope” for a sequel:

“What I tried to say, maybe I didn’t do it clearly enough, to clarify, there is always the hope that you would have another film, especially in a franchise.”

Yet, the actress continued to state that she “think[s] [there] will be” another episode:

“If there is to be another film, which I hope there will be, I think there will be; it takes time to make it; you have to go through the script process.”

Ryan Coogler, another target of Wright’s criticism, stated that he “needs recuperation to think of what to put together for the next one:”

What surprises could Black Panther 3 hold?

A third Black Panther might seem inevitable considering the success of the series and the passion that has gone into each picture. But at the same time, Marvel Studios‘ schedule is so full that it’s difficult to imagine how another sequel could possibly fit in.

The timing for a threequel is far off given that Marvel Studios is postponing numerous different projects, with more expected to follow.

One figure should appear in a hypothetical third Black Panther movie that fans have been begging for: Doctor Doom.

It would be quite a spectacle to witness the well-known antagonist faced against both Wakanda and Talokan. The legendary villain is the leader of the fictional country of Latveria.

The Wakanda saga will go on even without a third movie. This will probably take the shape of the global fascination with vibranium, which many fans anticipate will manifest itself in works like Captain America: New World Order and Thunderbolts.

Disney+ now has Black Panther: Wakanda Forever available for viewing.
