Star of Marvel Studios' The Marvels, Brie Larson, provided an update about her future in the MCU following the disappointing box office performance of her previous solo film.

In the lengthy history of the series, The Marvels reached a low point when it became the lowest-grossing film that Marvel Studios has ever produced at the box office.

Brie Larson, actress of Marvel Studios, spoke candidly about her plans for the MCU while walking the red carpet at the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

All Larson could do when questioned by Extra TV about the status of her next Marvel film was shake her head and respond, "I don't have anything to say about that."

In a November 2023 interview with ET, Larson adopted a far more upbeat stance when asked what she would still like to see Carol Danvers accomplish in the MCU.

When asked if fans even wanted Brie Larson to play the role in the MCU going forward at the 2022 D23 Fan Expo, Brie Larson revealed her emotions regarding the reaction to her performances.

She had previously called her role as the formidable MCU heroine "the thrill of a lifetime," perhaps suggesting that she had no plans to leave Marvel Studios anytime soon.

Given the constant criticism of her MCU role, it wouldn't be unexpected if Larson came away from the encounter a little bitter.

But a Disney official who wishes to remain anonymous harshly criticized certain segments of the MCU fans for being the reason for the film's failure.

It appears that Marvel still believes Larson can guide the series toward a quick turnaround.
