A brand-new Avengers team poster honouring the 60th anniversary of the team was released by Marvel.
For this celebratory piece, created by artist Alex Ross, each Marvel Comics Avenger was gathered. It will appear as a variant cover on several Avengers 2023 volumes.
The "first 30 years" of the Avengers, "from the '60s through the '80s," were the inspiration for Alex Ross' commemorative piece when he designed the Avengers 60th Anniversary poster, according to Marvel.
"In the case of the Avengers, I wanted to accurately portray both a large portion of the time period in which I grew up. As a result, I documented the team's first 30 years, from the 1960s through the 1980s. I stop when 1989 ends."
While the artwork highlights a vast number of Avengers, fans are sure to notice Captain America front and center, along with Black Panther, Vision, the Hulk, Thor, and more.

In addition to capturing their retro style for this anniversary artwork, Ross noted that he also aimed to convey their "attitudes:"
In addition to having a large cast of characters, George Perez's Avengers also found a unique way to pay tribute to the past.
Ross has been working on other posters besides the one for the Avengers 60th Anniversary. He is also releasing a poster commemorating the 60th anniversary of the X-Men.
