The primary antagonist of Deadpool & Wolverine has been revealed by Marvel Studios.

The identity of Deadpool & Wolverine's primary antagonist, who will be portrayed by the acclaimed Emma Corrin, is one of the many mysteries surrounding the film.

There was no definitive word on Emma Corrin's role as the major adversary after early rumors that she would be playing the X-Men villain Danger were swiftly refuted.

Now, Marvel has officially revealed who Corrin will be portraying in the MCU threequel, due to an official U.S. copyright listing for Deadpool & Wolverine.

The actress from The Crown is set to play Cassandra Nova, an X-Men villain and the sister of Professor Charles Xavier, the team's commander, according to the cast list.

Cassandra Nova was descended from a species of Mummudrai, bodyless mental creatures that created their own bodies by copying the DNA of an unborn Xavier.

Later on, she developed into a dangerous menace with psychic powers similar to those of Professor X and a strong animosity towards both mutant-kind and her twin brother.

Given that Deadpool & Wolverine is a multiverse movie, Cassandra Nova may end up posing a serious threat to several universes.

Maybe their goal is to rid the Multiverse of mutants; perhaps it's the Fox universe, in which case Wolverine and Deadpool will have to band together to protect their reality.

Given that Emma Corrin is slated to play Professor Charles Xavier's sister, Cassandra Nova, it is difficult to envision a scenario in which the X-Men leader does not appear in Deadpool & Wolverine.
