Jonathan Majors, best known for playing Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was detained on Saturday morning in New York City after reportedly assaulting a lady near Chelsea.
According to sources in law enforcement who spoke to TMZ, Majors and his girlfriend, who seems to be the alleged victim, got into a fight Friday night while riding in a taxi.
Majors' fiancée allegedly confronted the actor and demanded access to his phone after noticing that he appeared to be texting another woman. According to TMZ, this infuriated Majors, who allegedly grabbed her hand and slapped her as a result.
According to TMZ, the woman had visible signs of the alleged assault across her body. She is currently in stable condition at a local hospital.
Around 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, the woman called the police and described to them how she and Majors got into a fight and he assaulted her.
Majors is currently starring in two blockbuster franchise movies, both of which were released in early 2023. The actor received widespread accolades for his performances in both films.
Most recently, just after the release of their movie, he and Creed co-star Michael B. Jordan made an appearance at the Oscars together.
