Will Thor 5 Ever Be Released?

Fans and critics alike have many negative things to say about the film, but many still want to see Chris Hemsworth‘s God of Thunder continue on his adventure.

Is there a Thor 5 in the MCU?

Marvel Studios has not yet formally endorsed Thor 5; nonetheless, Love and Thunder do close with the assurance that “Thor will Return.” So, even if it only manifests as more team-up blockbusters, Chris Hemsworth’s Asgardian Avenger will at least return for more action.

Thor 4 undoubtedly prepared the audience for more action involving the hero and his adoptive daughter Love, particularly in the fight against Brett Goldstein’s Hercules. That could probably happen in a Hercules project or maybe one of the upcoming Avengers films, but that specific thread would fit better in Thor 5.

As one of the only remaining original Avengers and a consistent box-office attraction, Hemsworth has already stated his desire to remain in the MCU. Therefore, it only makes sense to continue his brand with Thor 5.

When might Thor 5 come out?

Currently scheduled for release through the end of 2025, Marvel Studios’ upcoming open dates for unknown projects are February 13, July 24, and November 6, 2026.

Shang-Chi 2, Doctor Strange 3, Armour Wars 2, and Eternals 2 are reportedly already under development, nevertheless. Therefore, it is likely that these films will end up taking the unnamed 2026 dates as well as any early 2027 dates before the May release of Avengers: Secret Wars, which will presumably conclude Phase 6.
