Loki Teases Corey Stoll’s MODOK Return
The long wait for Corey Stoll’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe was so great that Loki inserted a minor Easter egg for him.
The Ant-Man villain Yellowjacket’s helmet first appears in Loki Season 1 Episode 5 in the enigmatic extradimensional realm known as the Void.
The Yellowjacket costume accessory is firmly rooted in the hills of the Void and appears to be much larger than it actually is.
It is clear at a closer glance that this is the Yellowjacket helmet, which has glowing yellow eyes and a silver mouth and chin piece reminiscent of a gas mask.
Stoll was mentioned as returning for Quantumania when the Multiversal Disney+ series was scheduled to premiere in June 2021, with some rumours pointing to this giant-sized Loki Easter Egg. Therefore, it seems sense to think that Marvel Studios may have used this to create the groundwork for the actor’s MCU comeback as MODOK.
The origin of Yellowjacket in Loki: How?
This does not fully explain how Darren Cross changed from being Ant-last Man’s villain to being MODOK in Quantumania, or even whether this is the same figure from the MCU movie (something there is already precedent for in Ant-Man 3). However, there is enough connective tissue there for one to begin developing some possibilities.
