Previously seen as Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Marvel actor Tenoch Huerta has been accused of sexual assault online by saxophonist Mara Elena Ros.
Tenoch Huerta Accused of Sexual Assault
Rios made an effort to disassociate herself from Poder Prieto—a group dedicated to eradicating racism in Mexico—of which the Black Panther 2 star is a member—in a string of open Tweets.
She described Huerta as a “violent and sexual predator” in a Tweet that was translated from Spanish, and said that the group was after her to “avoid scandals over their Marvel movie“
“I made it very clear to them when I left their sect that they protect the violator and sexual PREDATOR of Tenoch Huerta that they not publish anything about me. They still went to look for me at a hypocritical ball concert to avoid scandals over their Marvel movie.”
In a subsequent Tweet, Rios added that Huerta was “charming in appearance” and a “narcissist” and claimed it was difficult to talk about his “abuse of power as a sexual predator who is loved for playing a character in a movie”:
“It is very difficult to talk about the emotional abuse and abuse of power of a sexual predator who is loved in the world for playing a character in a movie like Tenoch Huerta.
Charming in appearance, the great hallmark of a narcissist + a good helping of victimization”.
While the activist stayed mum about her allegations, she did affirmatively reply to a Twitter user who inquired about Huerta’s alleged assaults, indicating there are “several more.”
The claims against Huerta reportedly started after Rios claimed Poder Prieto broadcast a podcast episode she was a part of without paying her, according to the Mexican publication Reforma.
“THEY DO NOT HAVE CONSENT to disseminate a material that they did not want to pay me and that, like this, in several they exploited me to work for them for free.”
In its Twitter response, the organisation stated that it was unable to “pay you [for] something that is not our production.”
“We await the right of reply. We are accused of not having paid you for this podcast. We cannot pay you something that is NOT our production. And we didn’t publish it, only that content was recommended as we recommend content almost every day…”
Huerta has not yet responded to Rios’s allegations in the media.
The actor recently appeared in Black Panther 2 as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Avengers: The Kang Dynasty was said to have him back.
The allegations came shortly after Jonathan Majors, another Marvel celebrity, was detained and accused of sexual assault in March.
