by An Emmy-winning author who contributed to She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has joined the Deadpool 3 writing staff.
After hiring Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin from Bob’s Burgers to write the screenplay, Deadpool 3 has already undergone one writer change in the lead up to its release.
The writers of the original two motion pictures, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who were ultimately reinstalled in place of the Bob’s Burgers writers, would have been replaced by the two.
She-Hulk writer hired for Deadpool 3
Deadline reports that Ryan Reynolds and Marvel Studios have enlisted writer Zeb Wells to collaborate on the script for Deadpool 3 with franchise veterans Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.
As a co-writer of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Wells has previously contributed to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, focusing solely on Episode 7, “The Retreat.” He will now work on The Marvels in 2023 and be the show’s head writer for Marvel Zombies.
The author has a long history with Marvel as a comic book writer for characters like Spider-Man and the X-Men, and he now owns an Emmy for his work on Robot Chicken.
Marvel Studios is now smitten with Zeb Wells.
Zeb Wells will have contributed to two of the MCU’s fourth-wall-breaking films between She-Hulk and Deadpool 3. One of the best episodes of the season is Wells’ “The Retreat,” which was well appreciated by viewers at the time since it signalled an improvement in quality following a few mediocre ones.
Regardless of what one may think of the gamma-infused courtroom comedy, Wells has demonstrated his talent as a writer by earning seven Emmy nominations for Robot Chicken and even winning one. He unquestionably possesses the cunning comic abilities Ryan Reynolds seeks for to add value to Deadpool 3.
Given that Wells has already been granted an episode of She-Hulk and his own programme with Marvel Zombies, it is no little thing to see him added to the writing teams for Deadpool 3 and The Marvels. Marvel Studios is obviously fond of Wells and has liked working with him thus far.
In the not-too-distant future, it won’t be at all shocking if the Robot Chicken writer appears in further MCU films and television shows.
The movie Deadpool 3 premieres on November 8, 2024.
