Ms. Marvel, Homelander

Some fans disagree with Rotten Tomatoes’ list of the top superhero TV shows for 2022.

Marvel and DC characters are included in a new list by Rotten Tomatoes for the top superhero television shows of 2022, along with other programmes. Some outspoken supporters strongly disagree with it, as one might anticipate.

Ms. Marvel, Homelander

There were plenty of superhero-based ventures last year, to be sure. James Gunn’s Peacemaker opened the year 2022, followed by Moon Knight in March from Marvel Studios.

Of course, there were other superhero stories available on streaming services than the traditional Marvel and DC productions. The highly acclaimed third season of The Boys from Amazon Studios debuted, while The Sandman from Netflix made its debut (despite Rotten Tomatoes classifying it as a Sci-Fi/Fantasy series).

Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, two films that suffered from mindless review-bombing from an immature minority of fans, marked the transition of the year into the summer.

Animation projects including Young Justice Season 4, Harley Quinn Season 3, and Baymax on Disney+ also got their day to shine.

But where would each one rank if they were all put together?

Top Comic Book TV Shows of 2017 on Rotten Tomatoes

She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Daredevil, Moon Knight

The finest superhero series of 2022 were ranked by Rotten Tomatoes in a recent editorial, and the findings were a bit unexpected.

Ms. Marvel, from Marvel Studios, came in first place. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, The Boys Season 3, Peacemaker, and Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight all came in behind Kamala. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law came in second.

Many supporters have expressed their dissatisfaction with these results on Twitter, and many have done so personally.

There was “No way was this dog shit better than The Boys,” hollered @Hodgyson.

The programme shouldn’t have been in the top spot, according to user @Faraz3901150, given the existence of shows like The Boys and Peacemakers:

“[Skull emoji] boys and peacemaker exists lol”

@Bart2389

noted how “said” it was to see Ms. Marvel thus high, and how their day had been ruined:

“Still sad that this is actually real… this was easily the worst MCU Disney Plus Show we’ve gotten so far.”

The Boys deserved the top slot more, according to @MistArtworks, a fan of the Iman Vellani-led series, who “liked” the Disney+ series:

“As much as I loved this show, The Boys deserved the best superhero TV show.”

In support of Ms. Marvel’s victory, @HArbringerofCha3 made the dubious allegation that “losers” are “mad cause their [favourite] lost to a teenage superhero series.”

The Marvels, which they referred to as “the last episode of [Ms. Marvel],” will be released soon, as noted by Twitter user @Mads love3.

“Lets gooo yes so deserved btw happy 6 months until the last episode of Ms. Marvel I miss the show [so much].”

Ms. Marvel was one of the few new Marvel programmes that @MuzzShaik07 acknowledged they “went in mostly just for the character:

“This was one of the few Marvel Studios shows from the many we got that I went in mostly just for the character beyond the tie-ins. Hopefully the complicated things they changed do get resolved, but the core story was just right. So, well deserved Ms. Marvel team!”

According to rumour, the ranks of these projects are determined by the site’s statistics for each project and a mysterious ranking system that adjusts for varying quantities of fan and critic evaluations.

She-Hulk, for instance, had 610 reviews from critics and 18,998 user ratings, while The Boys, which came in third, received 148 and 2,278 reviews, respectively. Since their combined face value Tomatometer and audience score don’t necessarily correspond with their ranking on the list, it appears that some sort of average was established behind the scenes.

An awkward ranking of superheroes?

When it comes to how the projects are ranked, this list from Rotten Tomatoes is perhaps a little strange.

It’s difficult to imagine She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is as popular as it is, for starters. It was undoubtedly the most polarising MCU film in a very long time. Even those who adore it frequently agree that it has some dubious parts all throughout.

Ms. Marvel might be compared in a similar way. Even if a sizable portion of viewers appear to adore it, most people can agree that the villains were a great letdown and that the show’s quality did, if only briefly, decline later in the season.

No matter which nominee was placed in whatever order, someone somewhere would have been irate. That’s just how it operates.

Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and Ms. Marvel are all available for viewing on Disney+. The Boys is available on Amazon Prime, and Peacemaker may be found on HBO Max.
