Ant-Man 3 had a significant influence on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with its Multiversal stories and the new characters it introduced, while being engulfed in controversy due to the legal issues involving Jonathan Majors and burdened by unfavourable reviews.
Arrival of the Ant-Man 3 Collection on Disney+
In honour of the release of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania on Wednesday, May 17, Disney+ unveiled a fresh batch of films centred on Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man.
This includes a brand-new visual that combines several publicity images and screenshots from the Ant-Man films, showcasing Evangeline Lilly’s Hope van Dyne and Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang.
This collection includes the films Ant-Man from 2015, Captain America: Civil War from 2016, Ant-Man and the Wasp from 2018, Avengers: Endgame from 2019, and the What If…? series from 2021.
The Hulk, Thor, and Doctor Strange can be found in this collection, which is the 12th specific Marvel Studios collection on Disney+.
Before the release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in theatres, Black Panther was the last character to get a collection like this.
After Quantumania, when will Ant-Man make a comeback?
With Ant-Man 3’s lacklustre box office performance during its theatrical run, its release on Disney+ will at least allow fans to see the movie in comfort.
Fans can only wonder when the shrinking Avenger will return to action after Quantumania given how divisive this film is and all of the controversy that occurred behind the scenes.
In particular, if Rudd ends up incorporating Scott Lang into larger films like Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars, this collection of films should continue to grow as the MCU does.
It might take some time before this plot gets a fresh addition, though, since Marvel may be planning some significant adjustments behind the scenes in the context of the evolving superhero movie industry.
