While the precise release date for Loki Season 2 on Disney+ is unknown, Owen Wilson recently offered a release timetable for the MCU show.
The MCU’s Phase 5 shows’ release windows were recently removed by Disney+, causing a wave of delays for several shows, including Loki Season 2.
While Loki’s release date has not yet been updated by Marvel Studios, rumours about when the show will premiere on Disney+ have started.
Owen Wilson provided Releasing window for Loki Season 2
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Loki actor Owen Wilson, who plays the show’s Mobius, provided a quick update on the upcoming release of Season 2.
When discussing the post-credits scene from Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, in which he appeared alongside Loki and Jonathan Majors‘ Victor Timely, Wilson predicted that the programme would air on Disney+ at the “end of the summer or in September:”
“I guess [Quantumania] has kind of a little shot of Tom Hiddleston and I and Jonathan Majors from ‘Loki’ season two. And I think that’s coming out end of the summer or September.”
The release timeframe for Loki Season 2 was originally slated to be “Summer 2022,” but when the streaming service modified that window to “Coming Soon,” that plan may have been abandoned.
Wilson’s statement is consistent with an earlier Bespin Bulletin story that Loki Season 2 is planning to air “much later in the Summer,“ which suggests that it would air in August or September.
Will Marvel Postpone Loki Season 2 Once More?
Though Marvel has previously reprimanded Owen Wilson for disclosing information unintentionally, the company may this time give the actor a pass due to the uncertainty surrounding Loki Season 2’s Disney+ release date.
If Marvel Studios releases Secret Invasion first this year, a September release for Loki Season 2 is fairly appropriate. The Samuel L. Jackson-starring series is expected to debut on Q according to earlier rumours.
If this is the case, a release window in the late summer would allow for more time to pass between the two events.
It’s unclear at this time whether Marvel Studios will put off the debut of Loki Season 2 any longer. There is cause for concern about a potential delay given the drama going on behind the scenes under the Marvel label and delays everywhere.
Nonetheless, it’s safe to assume that the next Disney+ programme won’t undergo any kind of delay from its late summer release schedule considering that Owen Wilson appears to be aware of Loki Season 2’s release window.
Fans may currently watch Loki Season 1 on Disney+ to catch up.
