The two original Avengers members who were featured on Disney+’s Marvel banner have been taken down, and other characters have taken their place.
The founding original Avengers members of the MCU have been steadily leaving the series in recent years. With Avengers: Endgame, Chris Evans‘ Captain America and Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man said goodbye, while Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow made one final appearance in her own 2021 Phase 4 solo film.
Thor, the Hulk, and Hawkeye, played by Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, and Chris Hemsworth, are the only heroes from the 2021 cast still alive. After their Phase 4 appearances, the three survivors’ prospects in the MCU are still unclear, and it is unknown when any of them will make another appearance.
Disney+ Releases the original Avengers members Film
Disney+ made an update to the Marvel area, replacing the old banner with a new one that leaves out Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, two of the original Avengers.
She-Hulk and Nick Fury, played by Tatiana Maslany and Samuel L. Jackson, respectively, have taken the place of the original two Avengers, while Yelena Belova, played by Florence Pugh, is another newcomer to the Disney+ lineup.
Letitia Wright’s Shuri, who was depicted on the initial artwork outside of the suit, replaced Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa as the Black Panther after both the actor and the character passed away.
All six of the MCU’s original Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Nick Fury were shown in a collage of their character posters from 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron when Disney+’s Marvel section first debuted.
The following is a list of the heroes who are currently represented in Disney+’s Marvel artwork:
*Shang-Chi – Simu Liu

*Captain Marvel – Brie Larson
*Nick Fury – Samuel L. Jackson
*Captain America (Sam Wilson) – Anthony Mackie
*Scarlet Witch – Elizabeth Olsen

Is the MCU Losing the Original Avengers?
While Hawkeye and Hulk made their presence known through streaming original programs, Black Widow and Thor were the only original Avengers displayed on Disney+’s original Marvel banner being the only ones of the six expected to spearhead significant theatrical outings during Phase 4.
In order to make room for those who have recently led projects, are scheduled to make quick returns, or are anticipated to play major roles in the years to come, it only makes sense to remove Thor and Black Widow from the artwork now that they will no longer be appearing in MCU films.
Although Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, and Natasha Romanoff might appear once more in Avengers: Secret Wars or other significant films, their role as the MCU’s top characters has officially come to an end, and the spotlight is now being placed on new heroes.
Thor and Hulk will be featured in more adventures, as the Asgardian god will battle Hercules, while the gamma-infused hero recently welcomed his son into the mix. Given that actor, Jeremy Renner just sustained a serious injury and that his character has already handed the torch to Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop, it is impossible to predict what the future of Hawkeye will contain.
Therefore, even though some of the original Avengers may still be alive, they all seem to be playing less part in the MCU nowadays. As they pass on their mantles and get ready to leave the franchise ultimately, it’s likely that all three will continue to move over time into more of a mentoring position.
Now available on Disney+ for streaming are all four Avengers films.
