The Marvels' Trailer: Brie Larson, Iman Vellani & Teyonah Parris Swap Places

The Marvels Receives an Official Rating That Is Not Surprising for the impending Captain Marvel sequel

The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) has recently announced an official rating for the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel, The Marvels.

Due to Dune: Part II‘s postponement, the next MCU movie to be released in theatres will even have an IMAX release.

With an official budget of more than $274.8 (according to Forbes), Brie Larson‘s sequel, which will pair Carol Danvers with both Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan, is one of the most costly MCU excursions to date.

The film’s plot pits the titular three against Zawe Aston’s Kree commander Dar-Benn, who is seen in a new video brandishing a recognizably similar bangle.

The Marvels Receives a Rating

Nobody will be surprised by Marvel`s official rating from the MPAA.

A PG-13 rating will be given to the forthcoming Brie Larson-starring movie for “action/violence and brief language.”

Until now, each movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has received the same grade, albeit the justification for some of them may take a bit longer.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 by James Gunn, for instance, received the same rating because of its “intense sequences of violence and action, strong language, suggestive/drug references, and thematic elements.”

Even just by one word, the first movie of 2023, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania ended up with a briefer description: “violence/action, and language.”

More fun with Marvel for the whole family

Most people shouldn’t be surprised that The Marvels won’t be pushing the envelope in terms of MPAA ratings. It won’t even have “strong language,” so there won’t be any surprise f-bombs like Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord dropped.

Marvel Studios will likely prefer that audiences be able to easily access the three heroes’ major team-up. The final 2023 won’t be that time or location since those more severe ratings have their time and place.

Fans will have to wait until Deadpool 3, which is scheduled to be the only MCU film to date with an R rating. Given the epic scale on which the movie appears to be presenting its narrative and the fact that it will feature not just Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine but also perhaps the TVA from Loki, the label is a bit unexpected.

If Ryan Reynolds‘ MCU debut, despite its rating, is a hit, perhaps there will be even more R-rated adventures to come. Blade, starring Mahershala Ali, would be the ideal pick to emulate it.

On November 10, The Marvels opens in theatres.

Jackson, it features Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan. Principal photography took place at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, Longcross Studios in Surrey, as well as in Los Angeles and Tropea, Italy, beginning in early August 2021 and wrapping up in mid-May 2022. Brie Larson as Captain Marvel’s Carol Danvers:

An Avenger and former fighter pilot for the U.S. Air Force, her DNA was accidentally changed to give her superhuman strength, the ability to project and absorb energy, and the ability to fly.

After her origin narrative was established in Captain Marvel (2019), Larson stated that the movie would go more into Danvers’ character and her “complexities.” Danvers has spent the majority of the time since the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019) in space, and according to Larson, she “kind of became a workaholic, and she lost touch with her heart and with family and friends.”

Monica Rambeau is played by Teyonah Parris.

a S.A.B.E.R. astronaut with the power to control all electromagnetic spectrum wavelengths who works with Nick Fury. She looked up to Danvers as a little girl and the daughter of Danvers’ late friend and fellow airman Maria Rambeau. The Marvels, according to Parris, would delve deeper into Rambeau than what was already revealed in the Disney+ miniseries WandaVision (2021). She trained for the part via boxing.

Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel’s Kamala Khan:

An adolescent Jersey City human-Djinn hybrid who adores Danvers and sports a magical bracelet that has given her access to the power to gather cosmic energy and forge constructions of hard light. Producer Kevin Feige compared Kamala’s reaction to seeing her idols Danvers and Rambeau to Peter Parker’s in Captain America: Civil War (2016). Vellani engaged in parkour training since Kamala’s movement in the movie was closely related to it.

Why is the writing for Captain Marvel so bad?

Externality ought to be the means, not the goal, at all times.
