Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 isn’t scheduled to hit theatres until May, but that hasn’t stopped fans from guessing about what will happen in the original Guardians team’s final trip.

As the release date draws nearer, Marvel has been slowly releasing fresh trailers and ads for the movie, each one showcasing more brand-new footage.

New Images Are Included in a Recent Guardians Vol. 3 Promo

Some intriguing new footage can be seen in a new promotional trailer for the arrival of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in 4DX theatres.

Several of the heroes are in spacesuits that are, according to James Gunn, inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey. The teaser trailer for the movie had a shot that is similar to this one, although this one is a little more eye-catching.

The next image shows Nebula taking in her surroundings. She appears to be on a ship’s bridge, with lightning streaking the inside walls.

The assassin examines the lightning pulsing through the ship in a close-up image of Nebula from the same scene:

What could be the cause of the Bowie’s high voltage is unknown at this time. Nebula’s anxiety might be a sign that a bad guy, such as the High Evolutionary or possibly Adam Warlock, has sabotaged the spacecraft. Rocket may have just left a screw unfastened as an alternative.

What the MCU Will Gain from the Guardian’s Finale

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

This film serves as the final appearance for the current iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy, as James Gunn has made quite apparent. And the end is coming quickly.

However, that’s not to say that the gang can’t go on in some other form or manner, but the team consisting of Quill, Rocket, Groot, Drax, Mantis, Nebula, and Gamora will cease to be by the closing of the threequel.

Whoever survives may decide to go their own separate ways, and at least one character’s demise appears to be all but assured. Yet, there are suggestions that some members might remain and form a new Guardians lineup.

Whatever the case, it would be a good idea to pack tissues when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 from Marvel Studios opens in theatres on May 5.
