During the press run for Secret Invasion, Emilia Clarke spoke with Yahoo’s Kevin Polowy about why the MCU is the best series she has yet to join.

“Oh my god, it’s just the best… It’s such a pedigree in its own right, it lives in its own level that is separate from everything else. It isn’t just a superhero franchise, it’s Marvel, like it’s totally different.”
The actress praised the Marvel ensemble after remarking on the “ease and calm” that comes with knowing the studio is “the best” at what they do:
“There’s an ease and calm that I think comes with them being the best and maybe understanding that they’re the best, and having all the stuff. And then having this cast is just completely mindblowing.”
In contrast to the “unique experience” of seeing Game of Thrones develop over time, Clarke described how the MCU has allowed her to enter a world where “everyone is already doing their A-game:”
“Game of Thrones was such a unique experience for me because we didn’t know what the hell we were doing most of the time. And then it just became this big thing and we just rode that journey all the way. This, you’re stepping in and everyone is already doing their A-game.”
Clarke has previously spoken candidly about her time working with Marvel Studios, calling them “absolutely brilliant:“
“I’m genuinely having a wicked time on Marvel, though, they’re absolutely brilliant.”
The actress even said that she would be happy to continue working in the MCU in the future, stating that everyone has “only the highest praise to offer:”
“Everyone I know and everyone I’ve spoken to who is a part of the Marvel universe — and actors talk! Everyone has only the highest praise to offer.”

Emilia Clarke has landed roles in some of the most important pillars of contemporary pop culture, including Marvel, Star Wars, and Game of Thrones. The DC Universe may be the only glaring omission from her record, but perhaps she will eventually appear in James Gunn’s next relaunch.
But given that Clarke has been upfront about wanting to stay on in the MCU after Secret Invasion, that currently appears doubtful. It’s too soon to predict where G’iah will wind up by the time the six-episode Disney+ run is over, though, given the spy thriller has only so far aired one episode.
While Clarke’s G’iah may be a crucial character in the Secret Invasion Skrull story, it’s difficult to envision where she would go in the MCU beyond this.
By the time the episode is out, some people think G’iah might end up being the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s take on the illustrious spy Abigail Brand. Disney did once name Clarke as playing Brand in Secret Invasion, possibly leaking a big plot surprise that would appear in upcoming episodes.
