Two new episodes of Marvel Studios Legends were made available on the streaming service before the premiere of Loki Season 2 on Disney+.
Since the start of Phase 4, Marvel Studios has published episodes of a show called Legends in advance of every significant undertaking, showcasing certain characters or elements that will have a significant impact on a forthcoming film or Disney+ series.
The episodes of Loki Season 2 have already been confirmed in August.
Before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hit theatres, for instance, each member of the Guardians of the Galaxy squad had an episode that focused on their individual character’s journey in the MCU up to that point.
Marvel Studios Legends Episodes Loki Season 2
Two new Loki-focused episodes of Marvel Studios Legends are now accessible for viewers to watch before Season 2 of Loki premieres on Disney+ on Thursday, October 5.
The two episodes that will keep the anticipation for Season 2 high aren’t character-specific.
The two additional episodes will focus on something different as Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki already had his episode before Season 1 was released.
The Time Variance Authority’s background, as shown in Loki Season 1, is explored in the first new episode of Legends, “TVA.”
The TVA‘s overall purpose and the part it played in the first batch of episodes of the show are briefly reviewed in this episode.
The second episode of the television series Legends, titled “Variants,” continues in the same vein.
Variants have grown to be a significant part of Phase 4, and Loki’s first season is mostly responsible for exposing fans to several iterations of well-known characters.
The “Variants” episode also features some of Season 1’s biggest songs while showcasing the many Loki Variants that were prominently featured throughout the program. As Victor Timely, a Variant of the Conqueror, will play a significant part in Season 2, it also includes Jonathan Majors‘ portrayal of Kang the Conqueror from Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.
Where are Sylvie and Mobius?
Fans might be perplexed as to why Marvel Studios chose to give the TVA and Variants their episodes of Marvel Studios Legends rather than Sylvie or Mobius, played by Sophia Di Martino and/or Owen Wilson, respectively.
The incredibly significant characters Mobius and Sylvie have already been revealed to spend most of Season 2 by Loki’s side.
However, there is a rather straightforward explanation for why they weren’t given their episodes.
Since Sylvie is a Variant, she receives a lot of attention in the “Variants” episode of Legends. She was discussed at great length in that episode, and it even featured her defining moment after Season 1 when she murdered He Who Remains.
The situation with Mobius is comparable to Sylvie’s. He was the focus of the recently released Legends episode on the TVA. However, the TVA itself and how he was a member received more attention than him as a person.
Given that Mobius played such a significant role in Season 1 and is expected to do so again in Season 2, he definitely would have benefitted from having his episode.
Additionally, it wouldn’t have affected the fans in any way because a single episode devoted to him would have helped everyone remember his part from the first episode.
On Thursday, October 5 at 9 p.m. ET, Disney+ will watch Loki’s inaugural episode of Season 2.
Other information for Loki Season 2
As Tom Hiddleston embarked on his first solo series as the God of Mischief in 2021, Loki quickly rose to the top of the list of most-watched Disney+ shows in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Season 2 should have a decent opportunity to achieve the same level of popularity that Season 1 achieved two years ago, especially with Marvel attempting to reach even more people by using an earlier release schedule.
The following six episodes continue up right after Season 1 ends, demonstrating the extent of the upheaval within the TVA following Sylvie’s elimination of He Who Remains in Episode 6.
Additionally, with Thursday evenings devoted to the newest installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Season 2’s early video has already teased great levels of mayhem, so this program should quickly become the buzz of the Marvel fanbase.
