According to rumours, a beloved Venom movie character will appear in Sony Pictures’ upcoming animated sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 2.
The most recent addition to Spider-Verse 2’s incredible cast of performers and characters is Deadpool actor Karan Soni, who recently assumed a significant role as Spider-Man India.
The sequel’s promotional materials included dozens of different web-slingers from all around the Multiverse, hinting at exactly how vast the Multiverse actually is in Sony’s most recent Spider-Man film.
And with speculations suggesting that some of the most famous Spider-Men in history, including Tom Holland‘s MCU hero, may appear, anticipation for some unexpected participants is growing.
Spider-Verse 2 Rumored to Include Venom Character
Peggy Lu’s Mrs. Chen from Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage is scheduled to make a live-action cameo in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, according to Scooper Daniel Richtman’s Patreon page.
Lu will reintroduce Mrs. Chen to the larger Marvel universe after she appeared as a small supporting role in both of Tom Hardy‘s Venom films, but it’s unclear how she’ll factor into the film. She eventually acted as a temporary host for Venom in a humorous scene from Venom 2 when the symbiote and Eddie had split up. Her character operated the convenience store where Eddie Brock shopped.
Are There Going to Be More Venom Characters in Spider-Verse 2?
In the first two Venom films, Mrs. Chen emerged as one of the funniest and most fascinating characters, especially when she was forced to host Venom as the antihero vented his resentment at Eddie Brock for the couple’s separation.
She is a live-action character in a primarily animated movie, so seeing her return will bring a new level of amusement and humour to this sequel.
Mrs. Chen’s alleged involvement raises the fundamental question of whether Eddie Brock himself will appear alongside so many animated Spider-Man variations.
Venom and Mrs. Chen would have a rare chance to engage with Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, and perhaps Tom Holland‘s Peter Parker from the Marvel Cinematic Universe if they both appear in Spider-Verse 2.
Fans will have to wait to learn more information as Sony completes the story for the sequel to their biggest animated film ever because there is currently no confirmation that any characters from the Venom movies will appear in this animated sequel.
On June 2, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will make its theatrical debut.
