Although Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, is said to be actively involved in the casting process, the MCU has not yet chosen its performers for the Fantastic Four revival.
The actors that are allegedly involved in the Fantastic Four movie have been the subject of a sizable portion of news.
Diego Luna, Penn Badgley, Mila Kunis, and Adam Driver are just a few of the well-known actors who have been linked to the role of the titular duo.
Despite this, Fantastic Four director Matt Shakman addressed the casting speculations, saying that he and Marvel Studios “have nothing to announce right now” and that anything fans see online is simply rumour and speculation.
Fantastic Four Casting: Kevin Feige’s Active Participation
According to Justin Kroll of Deadline, Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, has a “thorough” casting procedure, thus finding the proper performers for the MCU’s Fantastic Four “could still be weeks or even months.”
“Just to be clear, even if something is getting active or gearing up, could still be weeks or even months before we have our four actors given how thorough the studio and Feige are.”
Feige’s strategy in the Fantastic Four casting process makes sense given that the four actors will probably act as cornerstones of the MCU going forward.
Moreover, Kroll brought up another unexpected casting development for the Fantastic Four, revealing that Marvel Studios would cast Sue Storm first before assembling the rest of the group.
When will Marvel reveal the Fantastic Four actors for the MCU?
Marvel Studios may benefit from Kevin Feige taking a more direct role in the Fantastic Four casting process, especially after a difficult start to Phase 5.
Even though the Marvel Cinematic Universe has had success with casting over the years, the fact that the Marvel Studios head is more involved with this particular movie solidifies the impression that this group of heroes is essential to the franchise’s future.
Given the prominence of the Fantastic Four in Marvel Comics, it stands to reason that the actors who play them will likely rank alongside the MCU’s former and present stalwarts, like Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), and Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange).
According to this update, the formal announcement of the Fantastic Four actors for the MCU could occur in the second part of the year, either during Disney’s D23 convention or this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
Even so, it’s possible that before Marvel Studios makes an official announcement about their involvement, the actors who have been hired in the roles will be made public in a report or a scoop.
The Fantastic Four movie is scheduled to premiere on February 14, 2025.
