The Invincible Season 2 teaser may have hinted at a possible Spider-Man crossover.

Invincible Season 2’s Spider-Man

It appears that Invincible on Season 2 may be hinting at a Spider-Man crossover. After more than two years since the conclusion of the first season, Skybound has finally revealed that Season 2 of Invincible will debut in November of this year. After this revelation, fans discovered that Skybound had been giving them hints for a while about the release of Season 2 and its additional Atom Eve-focused spin-off episode. Now that fans are aware of these indications’ former placement, they may have found a shocking hint about a possible cameo in Season 2.

Invincible is shown returning to the superhero game in the teaser, but things don’t appear to be going well. His relationship with Cecil now appears to be at best strained, Mark and Immortal are fighting, supervillains are wreaking havoc everywhere, and Omni-Man has returned.

In addition, Mark exhibits a great deal of concern that he won’t turn out like his father, which is fair given what Omni-Man accomplished in the climax.

Spider-Man Allusion Found

Invincible, Spider-Man

At least that is what fans are speculating, but a possible Spider-Man tease in Invincible Season 2 may be coming.

In the first teaser for the second batch of episodes, Mark Grayson, alias Invincible, was dining with Allen the Alien at a diner when the big reveal occurred.

If you look closely, you can see a photo of a comic book cover with Spider-Man and Invincible on it on Mark’s phone. The comic in question is a crossover in which Mark mistakenly teamed up with Spider-Man to battle Doc Ock after being thrust into the Marvel Comics universe.

It’s possible that the placement of his image is only a useless Easter egg. There is cause to think it might be more, though.

In the same scenario, a younger woman who resembled Atom Eve, a fellow superhero, was seated across from an older man in the booth next to Mark’s. It turns out that was meant to be an allusion to the recent Atom Eve Prime Video special.

Someone quickly pointed out the Spider-Man allusion when the show’s Twitter account flaunted the fact, and the series responded by saying they “have no idea what that is.”

Even former Spectacular Spider-Man voice actor Josh Keaton’s participation in Season 2 was linked by some fans to a potential Spidey comeback. However, it should be noted that Keaton is a very busy voice actor and might be lending his voice to anyone.

It’s important to note that Sony and Amazon have a TV deal to produce several Spider-Man-related episodes for Prime Video. However, since live-action rights are in a whole separate field from animation, it’s impossible to predict how this may impact the webhead’s potentially Invincible appearance.

Invincible Season 2

A different multiverse superhero story?

It would make perfect sense for the series to attempt and capitalize on some of the popularity given how popular the Multiverse is right now. However, there is already a strong precedent for Invincible to address that subject.

Angstrom Levy, one of the main antagonists of the character, is able to access the Multiverse. The major adversary of the program, who will be portrayed by Sterling K. Brown, is already set to make his entrance in Season 2.

The Invincible War is one of the two characters’ most significant plots, and it features notable collaborations between Mark and other well-known Image Comics characters like Spawn.

Although the possibility of Spider-Man crossing across may be remote, they are not zero. An animated crossover has possibly even more room for error than a live-action one.

Having said that, the show’s creator, Robert Kirkman, seems to be quite sure in March 2021 that “Right now there is not [a chance for crossovers].” Could things have gone differently?

On November 3, the first three episodes of Season 2 of Invincible will air.

FAQs

  1. Did Invincible team up with Spider-Man?

Invincible is introduced to the group by Spider-Man. He describes their battle with Doctor Octopus. A police bulletin about Doc Ock wrecking the harbor is picked up by Iron Man’s armor. To handle it, Spider-Man and Invincible set out.

  1. Is Invincible linked with Marvel?

Back in 2005, Marvel Team-Up, a dormant series that combined numerous other heroes with Spider-Man, was revived with the help of Invincible writer Robert Kirkman. In order to bring in Kirkman’s original creation, Invincible, Kirkman and artist Cory Walker made the decision.

  1. Is The Invincible Spider-Man crossover canon?

It is indeed canon. Mark begins exploring the cosmos in Invincible#33, and that issue is replete with allusions demonstrating that what we saw in Marvel Team-up is canonical, at least in terms of the Invincible timeline.
