The possibility of witnessing Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool interact makes the impending threequel one of the most eagerly awaited Marvel Studios movies due to arrive next year.
Given their social media back and forth, the two of them appear enthusiastic about it all as well.
Both have also posted pictures of themselves exercising and getting ready to play their well-known roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time.
Jackman’s update surely gives Wade Wilson a run for his money after some outstanding progress shots of Ryan Reynolds.
Wolverine flaunts his physique
Hugh Jackman, who plays Wolverine, just published a photo on Instagram showing off his impressive muscles as he prepares to revert to his mutant form.
The 54-year-old actor Hugh Jackman teased his 46-year-old co-star Ryan Reynolds in the caption that accompanied the picture:
”He’s only 46. And I’m older. But it’s not a competition.”
This shows a significant improvement over Jackman’s September 30, 2022, “work in progress” gym flex photo.
Many people would question if the Australian uses steroids because of how muscular he has become, but Jackman says that “no,” he does not—rather, he built his muscles “the old school way” by eating lots of chickens over the years:
“No, I love my job. And I love Wolverine. I got to be careful what I say here, but I had been told anecdotally what the side effects are of that. And I was like, ‘I don’t love it that much.’ So no, I just did it the old school way. And I tell you, I’ve eaten more chickens — I’m so sorry to all the vegans and vegetarians and to the chickens of the world. Literally the karma is not good for me. If the deity has anything related to chickens, I’m in trouble.”
Prior to the start of shooting on Deadpool 3, Jackman previously pledged during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that he would be going “larger than before” for his Wolverine comeback.
The actor will be consuming “around 6000 calories a day” during that process; for reference, the average guy consumes between 2000 and 3000 calories per day, depending on their individual goals.
Logan against Deadpool
There is no doubting that both leads appear to be extremely impressive. A little healthy competition occasionally produces excellent outcomes.
But when it comes to flaunting one’s body, Jackman will probably take the lead. While Deadpool’s muscles are covered by his red spandex, Logan frequently keeps his arms naked.
Even if Wolverine ends up getting his comic-accurate armour, the mutant’s true form is still clearly visible.
When the movie comes out, Reynolds will undoubtedly have a lot to say about it. Given that Wolverine is already destined to die, perhaps The Merc With the Mouth will prevail in any case (see Logan).
Given that filming hasn’t even begun yet, the two stars’ humorous jabs at one another are probably just getting started. As the project rolls cameras, it is probably safe to predict that many more photos will be taken.
