Gamora died in Avengers: Infinity War, but how and why will Gamora come back in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? There are several causes.
Several images of the tearjerking Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 teaser from Marvel Studios included Zoe Saldana’s Gamora.
Before Thanos sacrificed her for the soul stone, Gamora, a skilled assassin and the daughter of Thanos, was an important member of the Guardians team and Peter Quill’s love interest. In light of this, how is Gamora returning for Volume 3? And why does she appear to be rejoining the Guardians?
Explaining the comeback in Gamora’s Guardians Vol.3
The viewer doesn’t witness Peter Quill and Gamora openly embrace their romance until Avengers: Infinity War, despite the fact that their affections for one another are hinted at in both of the previous Guardians movies.
The reason it takes the two so long to get there is because of their comparable, painful pasts. Gamora’s mother and half of her planet’s people were slaughtered by Thanos before he forcefully adopted her and turned her into an assassin.
Quill, on the other hand, was devastated by the death of his mother and later taken captive by Yondu to be reared by the Ravagers. He later learns in Vol. 2 that his true father, Ego, killed his mother and simply intended to use him.
Both have experienced loss and have trouble trusting others.
Infinity War appears to have helped them resolve some of these problems, but Thanos also snatches Gamora and sacrifices her on Vormir in this movie.
Peter has once again lost a great deal as a result of the death of this particular Gamora, who had a long relationship with the Guardians and Peter.
Thanos and Gamora from 2014 are able to learn about the MCU present because to the Avengers’ use of time travel in Avengers: Endgame, which also featured Nebula.
Then, using both past and present Nebulas, Thanos enables Gamora and himself to travel to 2023, the current MCU.
Gamora does turn against Thanos and discovers about her parallel existence with the Guardians and Peter even though she doesn’t go through the same things as her Infinity War version.
She vanishes by the movie’s conclusion after assisting the Avengers in the pivotal Endgame fight.
She can therefore appear in Vol. 3 even if she is absent from The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
Fans’ knowledge of Vol. 3 suggests that the High Evolutionary, a psychopath, and maybe the Sovereign from Vol. 2 will both pose threats to the Guardians.
A confrontation with the outcast Guardians seems plausible given that both are driven by their obsessions with supremacy and perfection, especially given that Rocket seems to be one of the High Evolutionary’s earlier endeavours.
Given that Gamora and her sister Nebula were given cybernetic upgrades by Thanos, she may also come into contact with these bad guys and end up working with the Guardians.
She assisted an injured Drax in what appeared to be a jail breakout in the most recent Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 teaser, which provided a brief insight into her character.
Gamora looks to be doing a three-point landing posture, often known as the hero pose, in one of the most intriguing photos.
A character arriving at this position is a visual cue that they have now become a hero in the majority of MCU movies.
But the true reason she’s there is because Vol. 3 marks James Gunn’s last appearance in the MCU and the end of his trilogy about the Guardians.
Saldana’s inclusion in this book’s conclusion is appropriate, and Peter Quill and both of their characters’ backstories are still unfinished. Again, the Gamora of 2014, who is now at loose in the MCU, has never known family or had a connection with Peter.
In the Disney+ special, Peter continues to work with the Guardians, but something is still lacking since he has—yet again—lost the one he loves the most.
Where Does Vol. 3 Leave Gamora & Star-Lord?
The threequel’s trailer, James Gunn, and even Zoe Saldana herself have all forewarned viewers that this last picture would be emotionally charged and that not everyone will survive.
Whether Peter and Gamora’s narrative ends with yet another loss is unknown, but even if it doesn’t, the two will probably eventually have to deal with the deaths of other Guardians.
Gamora’s appearance in the trailer, particularly the heroic attitude, hints that in addition to healing ancient wounds, this 2014 Gamora may also have her own hero origin tale.
It will be intriguing to watch, as always, how Gunn will weave this incarnation of the character into the Guardians’ final stand as he wraps off this cherished saga.
But despite the fact that there are still many unanswered questions regarding the movie and Gamora’s narrative, viewers can be confident that it will be more stirring, touching, and dramatic than they anticipate.
