Currently, Macfadyen and the cast of Succession are taking an HBO-sized victory lap as the popular drama airs its final few episodes before finishing after Season 4.

Now that the series is over, this adored group of actors will look ahead to see what comes next, and one of them has settled on an interesting forthcoming MCU project.

Succession Star Participates in Deadpool 3

Matthew Macfadyen, who starred in Succession, has reportedly been hired in the Deadpool 3 film, which also stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.

According to The Direct’s sources, Macfadyen will play a significant part with comedy elements opposite Reynolds and Jackman.

The casting of Macfayden has not been confirmed by Disney or Marvel Studios.

This occurs after Macfadyen wraps up his four-season stint as Shiv Roy’s husband Tom Wambsgans, played by Sarah Snook.

Makes Logic Matthew Macfadyen as Deadpool?

Fans may be questioning how well Matthew Macfadyen could fit in Deadpool 3 after his performance in HBO’s Succession. It might actually work quite well, in fact.

The actor has a lot of experience playing the punchline alongside the Roy family in the popular HBO drama, and he will undoubtedly do the same with Ryan Reynolds Merc with a Mouth.

Given his extensive experience in Succession, Macfadyen may be the only actor better prepared to take obscenities directed at him by a co-star.

One character that has been suggested for him to play is Hydra Bob. The humorous comic book persona serves as an even sillier version of Reynolds’ scarlet sadist in the first Deadpool movie.

In the next threequel, if Macfadyen were to play Hydra Bob, he might be the ideal balancing force for the trio of characters that will consist of Deadpool, Wolverine, and Macfadyen’s unidentified character.

Wade Wilson would be the most absurd member of the squad, with Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine being the most serious. Hydra Bob would be much worse. This may position Deadpool as the group’s down-the-middle straight shooter, highlighting how absurd everything is.

On November 8, 2024, Deadpool 3 will make its premiere in theatres all over the world.
