With the debut of its most recent teaser during Super Bowl LVII, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has just broken a significant record.
At the Super Bowl on Sunday, more images from the upcoming MCU movie, which hits theatres on May 5, were unveiled.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will supposedly examine parts of Rocket‘s difficult background while also making reference to Thanos from the viewpoint of Karen Gillan’s Nebula, as hinted at in the teaser.
Excitement for the film’s premiere reached a crescendo when Zoe Saldana’s Gamora even made a cameo during some additional action-packed footage.
Super Bowl trailer record set by Guardians of the Galaxy 3
Deadline claims that during the first 24 hours of its release, the most recent Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer broke a record by receiving 134.1 million views across all social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook).
Since before the COVID-19 epidemic, this was the first Super Bowl trailer to surpass 100M social media views.
The last film to accomplish this was F9 in 2020, however despite its release taking place before the pandemic, it still failed to earn the same amount of money as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 became the Super Bowl trailer with the most views according to RelishMix, a company that tracked the views. For comparison, DC’s The Flash‘s trailer received 97.4M views, making it the second-most watched trailer.
The following is a complete list of Super Bowl movie trailers, ordered by the number of times each one was viewed on social media in the 24 hours following the game:
*Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: 134.1M
*The Flash: 97.4M
*Fast X: 94.1M
*Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania: 87.9M

Prepared for the MCU Threequel
As the upcoming entry in the MCU, all eyes are currently focused on Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, but that movie is currently facing some very severe criticism. This, combined with the fact that audiences are eagerly anticipating James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy’s conclusion, creates the ideal storm for anticipation to be greater than ever.
It should come as no surprise that an MCU movie trailer would receive so many views during one of the largest broadcast events of the year, the Super Bowl, but that doesn’t make the record any less astounding.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 exceeded the milestone of 100 million viewers in a 24-hour period, which is a significant achievement any time something does it.
Regarding the movie itself, a lot of viewers are concerned about which characters will survive. The most unconventional squad in the MCU, however, won’t have much longer to wait for fans to find out as the release date approaches.
On May 5, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will debut in theatres.
