Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania debuted its first full trailer for MCU viewers only a few weeks prior to the release of Marvel Studios’ first Phase 5 film in cinemas.
Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly‘s third MCU solo picture since 2015’s Ant-Man is almost set to begin its run in theatres as the first 2023 feature in the MCU. In addition to their first-ever deep dive into the Quantum Realm, this one will put them on a collision course with Kang the Conqueror, the ultimate bad guy of the Multiverse Saga.
Fans will learn what Scott has been up to after assisting in the preservation of half the universe in Avengers: Endgame, a film whose influence is felt in multiple ways throughout this new standalone adventure, in Quantumania.
With the release of the first complete footage from the much awaited threequel, the Avengers’ last trip has once again entered the battlefield.
First Ant-Man 3 Clip Features a Star-Crossed Trio
Just over two weeks before Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hits theatres, actress Kathryn Newton assisted in spreading the word about the first complete footage during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Cassie Lang, Scott Lang, and Hope Van Dyne are shown in the video talking about Cassie’s most recent heroic adventures, which appear to have taken place after she was let out of jail. The young protagonist, who appears to forgive Scott for the time he’s missed with her growing up, remarks that her life has never really been regular since “a guy dressed like a bee tried to kill her in [her] room” at the age of six.
Funny enough, as Hope switches on the radio to listen to some music, an expert from Scott’s audiobook Look Out for the Little Guy starts to play. The passage recalls the scene from Avengers: Endgame where Scott was mistakenly transformed into a baby by Smart Hulk while they worked out their preliminary Time Heist plans:
“And in that moment, all I could think was ‘How did the Hulk turn me into a baby? Will I be a baby forever? Am I the Hulk’s baby?’”
Avengers and Endgame References In abundance in Ant-Man 3
This clip, which has connections to both the first two Ant-Man films and the Avengers’ most recent team-up film, appears to have everything fans are hoping for in Ant-Man 3.
Cassie is determined to follow in her father’s footsteps as she embarks on her own adventure to become a hero in the MCU as she approaches maturity in this new film. Although there seems to be some friction as Scott worries for his only kid, they still seem to agree that even at such a young age, she is trying to do the right thing.
Additionally, viewers receive a brief preview of Scott Lang’s autobiography, which will be included early in the movie and has references to Avengers: Endgame since Scott assisted Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in saving the universe. Before the real stakes of this threequel become apparent, this will provide some chuckles and help fans recall the comedy surrounding Scott temporarily becoming a baby with Captain America, the Hulk, and Black Widow.
This footage will probably appear pretty early in Ant-Man 3’s opening act, bringing Scott and Cassie back together before they are both taken into the Quantum Realm and placed in serious peril. After this long-awaited reunion between father and daughter, the blockbuster’s plot should start to go crazy quite fast because of its brief running period of 2 hours and 5 minutes.
On February 17, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will make its global debut in cinemas.
