It appears that Marvel Studios is looking to cast a Jewish actor in the upcoming Fantastic Four film to play Ben Grimms, nicknamed The Thing.
The majority of MCU fans now are aware of the several fan castings for the impending reboot.
Many had previously anticipated an official announcement at D23 last year, but it never came. The discussion has been going strong for months and months now.
Although it doesn’t seem likely, many fans are still holding out hope that John Krasinski will continue to play Reed Richards. The names of Penn Badgley, Adam Driver, Dev Patel, and others have also been mentioned during the conversation.
Even though Reed or Sue Storm has received a lot of attention, a fresh update has just been released that centers on another team member.
Ben Grimm’s Jewish Actor Wanted by Marvel
The Thing in the next Fantastic Four remake of the MCU is to be played by a Jewish actor, according to a recent rumor from insider Jeff Sneider on The Hot Mic.
Before saying that the current speculation is that the MCU’s Ben Grimm actor is “going to be Jewish,” Sneider noted that he had “heard at one point that they were looking [to cast] a person of color” for the character.
Neither Marvel Studios nor Disney have verified this information.
Ben Grimm is frequently shown as Jewish in the pages of Marvel comics, thus casting a Jewish actor to play the role would provide for a more comic-accurate take on the character. He would follow Moon Knight, played by Oscar Isaac, as the second openly Jewish character in the MCU.
So who would be the ideal choice to play The Thing?
Jason Segel from How I Met Your Mother might be a possibility. Liev Schreiber, who portrayed Sabertooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, is another.
Hugh Jackman is certainly searching for a stronger role in Marvel after how poorly that Hugh Jackman-led movie did with fans and broad viewers. It would be appropriate to be a member of one of the most significant teams.
Fans can at least find comfort in the knowledge that Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, is supervising a rigorous casting process to ensure the appropriate performers are selected, regardless of who ends up playing the part.
Sue Storm may be the fortunate family member to be cast first, according to the information provided in the same news item. Marvel Studios should disclose them all at once as soon as possible to save its fanbase.
The Fantastic Four movie is scheduled to premiere on February 14, 2025.
Who is the next Fantastic Four cast member?
Here they are, the Fantastic Four: Marvel’s First Family, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who are joining the MCU. There is a lot of conjecture that the film will take place in a 1960s parallel world. In the initial unveiling, there’s even a well-known robot hidden.
In the MCU, where does Fantastic 4 fit in?
The first Marvel Cinematic Universe film to place the First Family in the same live-action universe as the Avengers is Marvel’s Fantastic Four. It comes before Phase 6’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars and introduces Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm as they appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Does the MCU include the new Fantastic Four?
A forthcoming superhero movie called The Fantastic Four is based on the same-named superhero team from Marvel Comics. It is the first part of Phase Six and the 36th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it is a relaunch of the Fantastic Four series.
