When it was revealed that Aubrey Plaza would have a part in the upcoming Disney+ series Agatha: Coven of Chaos last fall, Marvel Studios made headlines.

Although Plaza’s exact role is yet unknown, the actress expressed her total pleasure at the chance to join the MCU, mainly because she gets to work with Kathryn Hahn of WandaVision.

Although promoting her own brand-new solo series, Hahn herself has praised Agatha’s debut, but she is by no means the only MCU mainstay who is interested in Coven of Chaos.

Veteran MCU actor Chris Pratt praised Aubrey Plaza’s selection for the upcoming Disney+ series Agatha: Coven of Chaos in an interview with Rolling Stone.

After playing married pair Andy Dwyer and April Ludgate on NBC’s Parks & Recreation, Pratt and Plaza have a long history together.

Because of her connections to Parks & Recreation, Pratt referred to Plaza’s casting as a “full circle” experience, showcasing how “special” and “unique” Plaza is. He hinted that she will demonstrate how well she fits into the MCU with her new role by looking back to her time on the Emmy-winning The White Lotus:

“That is full circle. I love that! She’s having such an amazing moment right now, which makes me really thrilled…She’s so unique and talented and special. It’s just great that the the rest of the world is waking up to that. She was awesome in ‘White Lotus,’ and ‘Emily the Criminal’ was great. And I think she’ll show that it’s perfect for her to be playing a witch in a coven for Marvel.”

Old Buddies Reconvene Beneath the MCU Sphere

It’s simply touching to see Chris Pratt encourage someone he worked so closely with for six years, especially as he approaches ten years of experience in the MCU as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 approaches.

Pratt and Plaza became good friends while co-starring in practically every episode of Parks & Recreation. Pratt’s comments about Coven of Chaos further heightened anticipation for the film.

Stars from the Marvel Studios are known to appear in other projects across the franchise, but Pratt and Plaza’s history on Parks & Recreation takes this to a deeper level.

Seeing Pratt make statements like this should only convince fans that Marvel made the correct choice in selecting the veteran comedy performer, especially because there is still a lot of mystery surrounding who Plaza will be playing when she makes her MCU debut.

Although a release date has not yet been set, Agatha: Coven of Chaos is currently under production. On May 5, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will make its theatrical debut.
