Sam Wilson’s new Captain America will be the star of the upcoming fourth installment of the franchise, which will also include a number of fan favourites.

For instance, Harrison Ford has entered the MCU with his part as a recast General Ross in New World Order, and the legendary performer reportedly transforms into the Red Hulk towards the conclusion of the film.

Additionally, reports suggest that the introduction of Adamantium, a hypothetical metal similar to Vibranium, which is believed to be the material of Wolverine’s claws, will be a significant plot point in the movie.

But when will filming begin?

Anthony Mackie, who will star in Captain America: New World Order, discussed the project’s start date in an interview with Kevin Polowy of Yahoo Entertainment.

Although Mackie initially said the incorrect month, he later clarified that the New World Order begins in “March,” and that “everybody’s being squared away and ready to go:”

“We start in about two months? March… Yea—two months, we’ll be—what month is this? We start in about a month, my bad. It’s not January. We start in about a month. We’re just kicking it off, and everybody’s getting squared away and ready to go.”

When asked if he would give his co-star Harrison Ford a breakdown of the MCU, Mackie responded in jest, “[he’s] going to give him a thorough analysis:”

“You know what, I’m going to give him a full breakdown and we’re going to compare notes. I’m very excited about it.”

Sam Wilson’s “superpower is his humanity,” as Mackie highlighted when comparing his Captain to Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers.

“I think with my Cap, he’s not a superhero. He doesn’t have a super serum. So his superpower is his humanity. So I think with him, he has to come to the stage with a very different understanding of what it is to be a good guy or bad guy, and what are the decisions that make you tow that line in the way that you [do]. So I just see him as more of a humane Cap, as opposed to a distinctive—a Cap of judgement. Where this is right and this is wrong. There are decisions that make you choose right or wrong.”

Marvel’s Upcoming Other Films & TV Shows

In less than two months, Captain America: New World Order will begin filming, joining a number of other MCU films that are also in production at the same time.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos, starring Kathryn Hahn, is currently being filmed in Atlanta, Georgia.

Marvel Studios‘ Wonder Man is scheduled to start shooting at the end of March alongside New World Order. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will play the lead in the series, which is set in Hollywood and features Ben Kingsley reprising his role as Trevor Slattery.

Thunderbolts launches in June after that. Blade should have resumed within the same time frame, one would have to assume.

Deadpool 3, which stars Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson and Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine in what seems like an incredible Multiversal adventure, is yet another movie that will begin production by the summer of this year.

New World Order should avoid having to compete for studio space.

The release date for Captain America: New World Order is May 3, 2024.
