It has been confirmed that an actor from Marvel Entertainment’s Agents of SHIELD will appear in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again MCU Disney+ series.
Fans of SHIELD have to wait while those of Daredevil have Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio back in the MCU.
The best they’ve gotten so far are hints from Chloe Bennet that she might return at some time, as when the actress rebutted a cruel remark that implied she couldn’t co-star with some of the MCU’s top performers.
There is at least one brief veteran dipping their toes into a new project, so fans won’t have to wait as long for news on if any of the show’s leads will join the MCU as it stands right now.
Actor from Agent of Shield Joins Daredevil
Michael Gaston will appear in Charlie Cox’s upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe series, Daredevil: Born Again, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Though probably not one that many people remember, Gaston previously played a part for Marvel. It was only in one episode, after all.
Gaston played Gerald Sharpe, a representative of the United States Department of Defense, in the third episode of Season 7, “Alien Communists from the Future!” Gaston also appeared in the fourth episode of the same season. He came upon Daisy Johnson and the others early in the episode, who had all been relocated to a different 1955.
His main motivation is to provide the team with the information they require to go on to their next episode.
When it was over, Sharpe ranted to the town like a crazy man, saying he had an encounter with aliens.
No information was provided on his specific part in Born Again beyond his overall association with the series. It is quite doubtful that the character he will be playing will be the same one he played on Agents of SHIELD.
Regarding THR’s claim, Marvel Studios has not responded.
Fans’ Desired SHIELD Character Is Not Here
This is probably not what everyone meant when they asked for Agents of SHIELD characters to return.
There’s probably no relationship between the two, given how minor Gaston’s position was in the departed ABC series. It will undoubtedly continue to fuel the argument within the fandom, though.
While discussing whether the old programme is canon, someone will undoubtedly bring up this piece of information.
He could play just about anyone, to be honest. He might be a generic lawyer once more, or he might be a significant client of Matt Murdock’s or a rival attorney.
There is still no official word on whether the top-billed cast members viewers wish to see return will ever play their parts. Many people hold out hope that Chloe Bennet’s earlier denials are all a smokescreen, while others clutch at any hint of a familiar figure making a comeback.
Marvel Studios must at the very least be cognizant of fan preferences. Considering the MCU’s current saga’s major Multiverse emphasis, hopefully it will one day.
In the spring of 2024, Disney+ will release Daredevil: Born Again, and the same service will also broadcast Agents of SHIELD.
