In the Loki Season 2 premiere, astute viewers noticed a connection to the MCU’s Scarlet Witch that everyone else had overlooked.
After the timeline-shattering events of the Season 1 finale rocked the super-powered brand to its very foundation, Tom Hiddleston‘s God of Mischief is returning in a new season of his popular Disney+ series.
Given the apparent Multiversal focus, the Marvel Studios tale will have going forward, Loki, the show that introduced the idea to the franchise, continues to be an important link in the larger MCU.
These associations have developed after just one episode, bringing to mind films from the Marvel Studios like Moon Knight and many more.
Cool Connection to the Scarlet Witch in Loki Season 2
There is a reference to Elizabeth Olsen‘s Scarlet Witch in the Loki Season 2 premiere’s credits.
A wall covered with Post-it notes can be seen as the titles start to roll as the camera cuts between several images inside and outside the TVA.
These eye-catching warnings appeared to have been penned by a variation of the forthcoming Avenger-level bad guy Kang the Conqueror (also known as He Who Remains in Loki).
The phrases “Dreams” and “Dream State Paradox” are inscribed on two specific Post-it notes, which provide a clear allusion to the Scarlet Witch and her activities in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness from 2022.
This is a hidden message alluding to Wanda Maximoff’s dreamwalking skills from the Doctor Strange sequel.
Dreamwalking is a Chaos Magic spell that may be used to take control of a Variant of oneself from anywhere in the Multiverse. It is kept secret within the Darkhold.
In the Sam Raimi blockbuster, Wanda used this power to enter the mind of a variant version of herself and go to a world in which she did not have to say goodbye to her two boys, Tommy and Billy.
Kang’s need to Dreamwalk: Why?
Some Dreamwalking aficionados might be perplexed by the Loki connection. Why would this mutant danger need to use magic to rule the MCU?
One may expect that Jonathan Majors‘ Kang would be much more grounded in the domain of science and technology rather than superstition and sorcery based on what has been presented thus far about the villain.
However, as the series moves towards a Multiversal confrontation with the reality-bending villain, Dreamwalking may be the key to Kang’s strategy.
The Marvel villain may benefit from the fact that dreams are verified in the MCU to be visions of one’s alternative counterparts in the Multiverse.
The post-credits sequence from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania shows that Major Marvel`s adversary has what seems like a limitless number of variations. By highlighting one specific Kang variant as the main threat to the Multiverse, Marvel Studios might help viewers gain a deeper grasp of the character.
Then, this one extremely dangerous Kang could use the ability of Dreamwalking to continue inhabiting Variant after Variant.
Kang’s Dream State Paradox: What Is It?
There is no basis for the “Dream State Paradox” in the real world, regardless of what it could be.
But the concept of paradoxical sleep comes uncomfortably close. In this type of REM sleep, the brain is still quite active, allowing people to actively construct ideas of their choosing even while they appear to be in a deep slumber.
This might be a hint to a future study by Kang into the possibility of controlling the body of the Variant casting the Dreamwalk spell while Dreamwalking to many Variants simultaneously.
This may theoretically multiply the one oppressive Kang brain into millions, creating a sort of Dreamwalking Mutliversal hive mind that could present issues when Earth’s Mightiest Heroes face him.
Up through Thursday, November 9, new episodes of Loki Season 2 will air on Disney+ every Thursday at 9 p.m. ET.
Loki Season 2 other information
Loki Season 2 is making quick connections to other MCU Disney+ programs, especially Moon Knight starring Oscar Isaac.
While the absence of interconnectedness in Marvel Studios’ streaming library and a large portion of Phase 4 and 5 has been criticized, the same cannot be said about 2021’s Loki, which introduced both the Multiverse and Kang the Conqueror.
Now, it appears that the second season of the popular show will carry on that pattern beginning with Episode 1.
Moon Knight Easter Egg from Season Two of Loki
The second season of Loki featured a scenario that connected the God of Mischief’s upcoming book to Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight.
The Staying Awake podcast, which Steven Grant listened to in Moon Knight Episode 1, is verified to be what Casey, a TVA clerk first seen in Season 1, is listening to at the end of the new Disney+ ad.
In the video, when Casey takes off his headphones, the line “Solving puzzles is a great way to keep your mind…” is audible to the audience.
Audiences may hear Steven Grant from Oscar Issac playing with a Rubik’s cube in bed as he battles to remain awake.
It’s interesting to note that Marvel Studios has already drawn comparisons between Loki and Moon Knight, and it’s probable that they may continue to do so in the future.
Marc Spector confronts a thug in Moon Knight Episode 3 while donning a jacket with the Kang Variant Rama-Tut’s colors and an Egyptian pharaoh motif on the back.
Who plays Ob in Loki season 2?
Ouroboros, or O.B. for short, has some immediate charm thanks to actor Ke Huy Quan, who also starred in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Everything Everywhere All At Once. This goes a long way when he’s getting quite deep into timeline-jumping, universe-jumping, and mumbo-jumbo.
Do Loki and Wanda get together in the comics?
Although the two have previously expressed romantic interest in many other comic book characters, most notably Vision for Wanda, their relationships have never been nearly this entwined.

Marvel said in May 2023 that season 2 will debut on Disney+ on October 6, 2023. The season 2 finale will show on November 9 and new episodes will debut every week at 6 p.m. PT, according to Disney+.
