Even though there haven’t been many updates on Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man on Disney+, a fresh source suggests that filming may begin much sooner than anticipated.
The majority of fans were surprised when the show’s initial announcement appeared out of the blue. It didn’t take long, though, for mystery to set in and interest in the project to begin escalating.
Recently, Deadline revealed how Marvel Studios has chosen Yahya Abdul-Mateen II from Aquaman for the leading position. Two months earlier, it was confirmed that Ben Kingsley will also be appearing in Iron Man 3 as Trevor Slattery.
Even Better Call Saul’s Bob Odenkirk is reportedly interested in playing a crucial part in the project.
Fans may now be able to estimate Wonder Man’s debut more accurately.
Start Date Potential for Wonder Man
Fans now know when the new Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man Disney+ series will premiere thanks to Discussing Film.
The article states that the project’s output is scheduled to begin at the end of March 2023.
James Ponsoldt, the filmmaker of The Spectacular Now, is also in discussions to helm a few of the first season’s episodes.
Wonder Man has not received formal recognition from Marvel Studios as of this writing. Perhaps they will make an announcement soon as there is more and more information on the project.
Wonder Man will premiere on Disney+ when?
So when may it be coming to Disney+ if production began in late March?
By convention, its commencement date would point to a likely debut in the latter half of the summer or early fall of 2024. It’s difficult to pinpoint a release date for Yahya Abdul-project, Mateen’s though, given speculations that Agatha: Coven of Chaos may be delayed until 2025.
According to a new listing from the Writers Guild of America for Wonder Man creator Andrew Guest, the Disney+ series will debut in the 2023–2024 season. That would appear to set the MCU premiere between the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024.
However, with Agatha set to begin the year and the 18-episode Daredevil: Born Again expected to take up the most of the year’s midsection, Wonder Man may have to be preserved till the autumn of 2024, when it presently has plenty of vacancies for Disney+ in its Phase 6 slate.
However, if Agatha were to ultimately be delayed into 2025 as has been suggested by some sources, Wonder Man may be given priority in order to take its place in early 2024.
In general, Mavel Studios’ plans have undergone several changes and delays, including a potential push for the next Avengers movies and the prospective addition of a completely new Phase for the Multiverse Saga. It goes without saying that the environment of the MCU is now constantly changing.
A few Marvel Studios movies, including Agatha, Daredevil: Born Again, Captain America: New World Order, Thunderbolts, and Blade, might wind up filming at the same time as the Disney+ series if it does launch in less than two months.
Hopefully, fans will be able to discover more about Wonder Man sooner rather than later, with filming maybe just around the horizon.
