Spider-verse 2 release date and 10 MCU Actors`and performers` roles

Spider-Verse 2 release date is initially slated for April 8, 2022. In Sony Pictures Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, 10 MCU actors and performers from the Infinity Saga and Multiverse Saga of Marvel Studios took on a variety of roles.

While the first Into the Spider-Verse mostly avoided any MCU ties, Spider-Verse 2 contained a number of callbacks to the MCU’s own Spider-Verse events in Spider-Man: No Way Home as well as to Marvel Studio’s core timeline.

It came as no surprise to learn that a few big names crossed universes to provide their voices to the Spider-Man story after Sony used those Spider-Verse connections to advertise this exciting new animated film.

Takeover by MCU Actors in Spider-Verse 2

The 10 actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe who have speaking parts in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse from Sony Pictures are listed below.

Brian Tyree Henry, Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Daniel Kaluuya, Karan Soni

1.) Hailee Steinfeld

Hailee Steinfeld resumed her role as Gwen Stacy and almost shared the spotlight with Miles Morales, played by Shamiek Moore, as she set off on yet another crazy Multiversal journey to bring Spider-Woman to life.

In 2021, she also made her Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut as Kate Bishop, co-starring with Jeremy Renner in Hawkeye on Disney+. She is still unsure of her future filming locations, though.

2.) Brian Tyree Henry

In Spider-Verse 2, Brian Tyree Henry returned to play Miles’ father, Officer Jefferson Morales, as the new Spider-Man and Miles’ father built relationships with both of them.

With a role in Phase 4’s Eternals, Henry also took on his first MCU assignment. In that film, he played Phastos, the team’s technology guru, with the possibility of reprising the part in the future.

3.) Oscar Isaac

Oscar Isaac, reprising his role as Spider-Man 2099 from the original film’s post-credits scene, presented one of the most intense iterations of the superhero to Spider-Verse 2.

Although there are no confirmed clues indicating when the Marvel veteran would return for Moon Knight‘s second season, Isaac joined the MCU when he played Marc Spector, Steven Grant, and other characters in the 2022 film.

4.) Daniel Kaluuya

Oscar-winner Daniel Kaluuya’s portrayal of the British Spider-Man variant known as Spider-Punk, who acted as Gwen Stacy’s semi-love interest throughout the movie, added some punk music to Spider-Verse 2.

In the 2018 film Black Panther, Kaluuya also portrayed W’Kabi, the head of the Border Tribe. However, he was only briefly mentioned in the 2022 sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

5.) Karan Soni

Spider-Man In Spider-Verse 2, India played a significant, central role, with fan-favorite actor Karan Soni portraying Pavitr Prabhakar as Miles and Gwen traveled through the Multiverse.

Soni will make his first MCU appearance in Deadpool 3 in 2024 thanks to the Multiverse, in which he will reprise his part as the cab driver Dopinder from the first two Deadpool films when the series is incorporated into Marvel Studios’ narrative.

6.) Shea Wingham

Spider-verse 2 release date

This sequel significantly expanded Gwen Stacy’s past by showing audiences how she interacted with her father, Captain Stacy, who was portrayed in this movie by Shea Wingham.

In Season 1 of ABC’s Agent Carter, where he played SSR director Roger Dooley before the character was killed off at the end of Season 1, Wingham had his own moment of MCU brilliance.

7.) J.K. Simmons

J.K. Simmons has played J. Jonah Jameson in almost every incarnation of the character for more than 20 years, and he was present in a couple of the brief newsreels from Across the Spider-Verse.

Before playing a cameo in the post-credits sequence of Spider-Man: Far From Home from 2019, Simmons brought Jameson to life in Sam Raimi’s 2000s Spider-Man trilogy. Simmons then went on to play a larger role in Spider-Man: No Way Home from 2021.

8.) Donald Glover

In a cameo as a Multiversal Aaron Davis, better known as the Prowler, Donald Glover created Spider-Verse franchise history by becoming the first live-action character in the nearly entirely animated franchise.

Although it’s still unclear if they are the same Variant, this is actually the second time he has taken on the persona of Aaron Davis after appearing in a supporting role as the same character in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming for the MCU.

9.) Kathryn Hahn

As the Multiverse expanded in Spider-Verse 2, Kathryn Hahn swiftly returned as Olivia Octavius/Doc Ock after taking on the role of the major antagonist in 2018’s Into the Spider-Verse.

After making her MCU debut as the major antagonist in Phase 4’s first film, WandaVision, Hahn quickly rose to fame among fans as Agatha Harkness. She will next be seen as the protagonist in Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

10.) Ayo Edebiri

Gwen Stacy debuted Spider-Verse 2 with a musical performance as the drummer of the MaryJanes, a group that also includes Glory, played by Ayo Edebiri.

Despite the fact that her particular role hasn’t been revealed yet, Edebiri will also enter the MCU in Phase 5’s Thunderbolts the following year.
