The 2023 MCU Return of Vincent D’Onofrio is No Longer Happening

A recent report claims that Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin won’t return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2023.

Vincent D'Onofrio's 2023 MCU Return is No Longer Happening (Report)

Wilson Fisk was played again by D’Onofrio in the 2021 film Hawkeye after he first appeared in the role in the Netflix series Daredevil. The Daredevil villain served as a sort of pseudo-uncle to Maya Lopez, alias Echo, played by Alaqua Cox, according to the series.

Kingpin will make his triumphant return in the new Disney+ series Echo, where he will reconcile with Maya after she appears to have partially blinded him in the Hawkeye finale.

The Daredevil and Fisk characters won’t interact on screen for the first time since the third season finale of Daredevil, according to a video from the show that was seen at last year’s D23 event.

Vincent D’Onofrio’s Disney+ Return Is Supposedly Postponed

Fans will not be able to view Vincent D’Onofrio‘s Kingpin in 2023 as initially anticipated because of the rumored Echo delay until early next year.

All six episodes of the show were supposed to be released on November 29, however, that date has reportedly been moved to January 2024. Despite the change, the season will still be launched all at once as was originally scheduled for November.

Following the conclusion of the 2021 series, in which Maya gravely injured Fisk, who had practically functioned as her adopted uncle while being a crime lord, Echo will continue the tale from Hawkeye of Maya Lopez (Echo) and Wilson Fisk (Kingpin) when it is released next year.

What Role Does Kingpin Play in the MCU?

When the show premieres the following year, some old wounds are sure to reopen due to the proven reconciliation of Kingpin and Echo and the almost-confirmed reconciliation of Kingpin and Daredevil.

If Fisk is the same character from Daredevil, the first question on many fans’ minds is probably how he got out of jail. Following a graphic sequence after Daredevil, it appeared that Kingpin would remain behind bars permanently because he would have to risk jeopardizing Vanessa‘s safety.

Fans might be left wondering if Matt held up his half of the bargain given Kingpin’s escape or why Kingpin changed his mind about it.

Fisk’s love for Vanessa was made abundantly evident throughout Daredevil, which is why betting her safety on him staying in jail seemed like a very good deal. There will undoubtedly be a tale about how and why Fisk changed his mind or whether Matt is aware that Kingpin is once more prowling the streets.

Probably, some information concerning Echo‘s whereabouts throughout the events of Daredevil may be disclosed as the episode itself will center on her.

It will be intriguing to find out how Maya fits into the existing past for Fisk from Daredevil as well as how Fisk fits into the relative story of Maya’s life (part of which fans discovered in Hawkeye).

According to reports, Disney+ will launch Echo in full in January 2024.

Did Vincent D Onofrio lose weight?

D’Onofrio dropped almost all of the weight he had gained for his role in Full Metal Jacket over nine months after the movie’s filming was finished.

Did Vincent D. Onofrio gain weight for Daredevil?

D’Onofrio says he put on more than 20 pounds to achieve his comic book-like look in the Marvel Studios series, which is his first time reprising the role since the 2018 cancellation of the Marvel-Netflix series Daredevil, in which he starred for three seasons as the Kingpin of crime opposite Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock.

How rich is Wilson Fisk in Daredevil?

Given this context, it is pretty impressive to see where Fisk places among the richest Marvel characters. His net wealth is reportedly $40 billion. Everyone who is ranked higher than the Kingpin of Crime has either inherited fortune or is a national leader.
